Difficult

I am citing the obvious here but this world is increasingly more difficult to tolerate day by day. If it is unrest in one place it is followed by unrest in two places and I am not speaking of the entirety of the world. I am speaking of America only. If we speak of the world we need to understand the human condition and that condition is that we are far from perfect; even if we like to think we, as individuals, are near to perfect.

Ah, perfection. We can only wish, as perfection would mean that we are all alike and think alike and know the same things. Well, that is one way to look at perfection and we fall far short of that don’t we? Yes, we fall so far short of that that we almost don’t know that we are imperfect and that is the rub when it comes to the human condition. What is right for you may not be right for me and vice versa. Someplace, there has to be something that is right for all of us as we are all more or less the same in needs and wants for our existence. Strange, to think that all we need is provided by the planet itself but we have to toil to make it ours.

So, one wonders if this isn’t some type of grand plan for us. If there is a grand plan then we must have screwed up along the way to have to toil for it. When we look at the fruit tree it bears sustenance for us seasonally. But, if we like carrots, and there is no store nearby, then we have t dig the soil, plant the seeds, and then hope that they come up. Tomatoes? Same thing. Rutabagas? Anyone?

Now, let’s speak of nuclear weapons because, whether we are able to acknowledge it or not, those weapons are in the backs of our minds always. Who is going to ruin our day by using a few? One is bad enough but several are like a comet crashing into our planet. Think about carrots and the planting of vegetables. Then juxtapose nuclear weapons and you will find that life is a balance between potential and reality on the ground. a reality that we have bungled ourselves into by being imperfect yet playing around with creation and the forces unleashed by creation. Note: nothing creates itself in the origins of the universe. It was created after thinking through what needed to be here to support us and our lives. Perhaps it is time to think beyond that new car?
