About
There is so much to speak of as concerns our lives. Psychology merely breaks the surface of the influences that assail us every minute of every day. Influences on our moods can be gravity as well as light waves and even that stupid neighbor who won’t control his dogs barking. What is amazing is that so few of us resort to physical altercations to set our annoyance straight. We are a group of cool human beings or there would be mayhem. You and I don’t get physical for the reasons of annoyance. At least, I don’t. Not any more.
Life itself is an annoyance when you stop and look at the environment we find ourselves in, and I am not speaking just for myself, Bert. That name, Bert, is the name I give the masses in the world. I could name them something other than Bert but we want to keep it clean as humanly possible here. And, as to humanly possible, it is also amazing that we can go through our lives without destroying all that surrounds us that is irritating. If patience were electrical power we could light the universe. If, that is, we could get a government grant from the U.N. But, I digress.
Life is moment to moment. For some, life is second to second. Then again, some live longer than we would wish. Hitler is but one example. If you are of a religious vein, life is a gift and that is the way I look at life. Were I the only one who looked at life this way I wouldn’t be here. The fact that we go through the birthing process and, literally, come out into the world is some type of miracle. For far too many of us, it is all downhill after birth. These are those who do not look at life as a gift and the reasons for not believing life is a gift is why we need psychiatrists and priests and Rabbis, etc. It really gets complicated doesn’t it?
Or, is it as simple as life being what we make it? Well, an awful lot of us would disagree with that starry eyed proposal because there are an awful lot of people who received the gift of life but are hell bent on making ours miserable in any way they can figure out how to. This is why we have governments. To make our lives miserable or, for a very few throughout history, to make our lives better. America was founded on that principle. Unfortunately, we have birth don’t we. From birth are formed people who agree that life should be as good as it can be and those who agree that to make life miserable means more power, thus more wealth for them. And here we are. That’s life, ain’t it?
